Fri, 29/04/2016 - 11:56

2nd year Geography students travelled to Mount Leinster as part of their outdoor field work accompanied by their teachers Ms. Prendergast, Ms. Byrne and their SNA, Sharon.

The day consisted of trekking, learning survival skills, studying Geographical landforms rocks and the economic activities in a mountainous environment.  A great day was had by all – with 90% of the students reaching the summit!!

All returned to Selskar College tired but inspired and elated after what can only be described as a fabulous outdoor adventure and achievement.   All activities will support learning in the classroom and was a worthwhile experience for all second year Geography students.

Plans are underway for our next climb.. Mt. Everest here we go...
