· Mature students (over 23) - No requirements
· Students (18-23) - Leaving Certificate or equivalent
· All entries will be subject to interview.
Course Description
One-year full-time course providing students with an introduction to the various forms of art and design. It provides an excellent opportunity for students to prepare a high-quality portfolio of work for entry into third level art and design courses.
The course consists largely of studio-based project work. This is complimented by visits to exhibitions, galleries, studios and art colleges.

FETAC National Vocational Certificate Level 5 (5M1984)
Work Experience
Work Experience is an integral part of this course. Students must obtain 80 hours work experience in a related area. The period of work experience will be
specified by the college. This work placement provides students with first-hand experience of work in art & design related areas.
